Rubellite is the raspberry pink variety of tourmaline, a group of closely related gemstones in almost every color. An ancient Egyptian legend says that tourmaline traveled from the heart of the Earth up towards the Sun along a brilliantly colored rainbow and collected all the colors along its way. Rubellite is thought to be one of the fairest of all—The Empress Dowager Tz'u Hsi, last Empress of China, loved pink tourmaline and went to rest eternally on a carved tourmaline pillow. We think the Empress would be equally besotted with our Rubellite and rose gold Droplet ring.
